長男の小学校の校庭ではみんなよくインサをやって遊んでいます。

嫁：「あの遊びなんていうの？」

僕：「インサやん！知らんの！？小学校でやらんかった？」

嫁：「知らんなぁ」

僕：「あぁそっか。福知山にまでは広まらんかったんや。そらしゃーない。」（僕は神戸出身）

嫁：「いやいや神戸限定やろ」

僕：「そんなわけないやん。神戸やで。アメリカでもやってんねんで。」

というわけで、ぐぐってみました。

神戸では相当ポピュラーなドッヂボール遊びだったのですが、今まで神戸市民以外にこの遊びを知っている人に出会ったことがありません。

AT&T のプリペイド携帯から T-Mobile G1 に買い替えてみました。発売日の前日に SF ダウンタウンの T-Mobile ショップで手に入るというので、6:30 p.m. ぐらいから嫁からの電話を何度か無視しつつ1時間ほど並んでました。しかしプレッシャーに耐えきれなくなりその時は断念。

でもその日の夜中からT-Mobile のオンラインストアでも購入可能になっていたのでついつい注文してしまいました。テキサスから発送されて翌日に到着。帰ってからアクティベート開始です。

まず起動すると、Google のアカウントでサインインするように促され、911 に電話する以外は何もできません。（アカウントがない人はここで作成）しかし、「Google のサーバの一時的な問題か SIM の問題でサインインできない」という旨のメッセージが。長丁場になりそうだったので子供が寝静まるのを待ちます。

再度トライするもやはり駄目。コミュニティフォーラムを見てみると、サポートに電話すればすぐに対応してくれるということなので夜中だけど電話してみました。すると、電話番号の移行のために必要な AT&T のアカウントナンバーが間違っているので、AT&T が電話番号を離さない状態だとか。確かに、注文時に迷ったあげく、電話番号を入れておいたのでした。AT&T に電話してみましたが、24 時間対応じゃなくて、この日は終わり。

朝起きて AT&T からアカウントナンバーを教えてもらい、T-Mobile に電話。これでオッケーでした。2時間後ぐらいには使えるということで長男を幼稚園に送っていき、帰ってやってみたらサインインできました。

手にしてみて初めて気付いたのが、トラックボール。なかなか使えます。いまは Android アプリの作り方の勉強中です。

ちなみに、店舗で並んでいるときに聞こえてきた店員さんの話によると、基本は2年縛りですが、購入代金に 50 ドル上乗せすれば 1 年契約ができるみたいです。

Fireworks In A...

Dinner at 明るいけど午後7時

We were invited to the party at our friend's apartment with a grand view of the bay on Saturday night. Three families including 5 kids got together and we enjoyed the homemade pizza, fried rice, dim sum, etc.

The fireworks on the bay started at 9 p.m. When the first one burst, we were very surprised. We didn't see anything in the upper sky because of a night fog. So we enjoyed the small fireworks and the big sound. It's San Francisco. We hope it will be better next time. But it was fun!

Please Do Not Call Me

I tweeted about many telemarketing calls to my cell a few months ago. Then Tatsuhiko told me about National Do Not Call Registry. I quickly registered and filed some complaints. So I could have quieter life..... until they started to call me.

They are 8889003194. They call me everyday and 3 times a day. They are talking about 24 hours fitness club. They don't stop talking even if I say I don't understand. If I push the "Ignore" button, they leave the voice message. And I call the message center to delete the message. It costs 10 cents.

I hate the process to file a complaint, so I just wrote tiny script to do it.
