先日、ウェイティングリストに載せていたプレスクールから空きの連絡が入り、（息子の担当医からの健康診断書が間に合えば）10月1日から通えることになりました。お値段がほんとに高いんですが、とにかく通えることになって一安心です。初幼稚園、初英語環境でどうなっていくのか不安ではありますが、楽しんで行ってくれるといいなぁと思います。
そしてあと2ヶ月ぐらいしたら Kindergarten 探しが始まる予定。ウエェ。

先日から始まった部屋探しですが、無事に新しい部屋の契約を済ませました！今回もまたたくさんの人に助けていただきました。本当にありがとうございました。会社からは5ブロックぐらいで、通勤途中にプレスクールがあるのも嬉しいです。
引っ越しは来週末の予定で、早速U-HAULでバンと台車を予約しときました。これであと1年は安泰です。

こっちへ来て半年ですが、はっきりいってまったく英語が上達していません。仕事柄、直接会話しなくてもメール、IM、IRCのやり取りでなんとか仕事はできる（とか言うと怒られそうですが）ので、まったく会話しない日もあるぐらい。でもそろそろこのままじゃいかんなぁということで、シティカレッジのESLに申し込んでみました。クラス判定の試験が木曜日にしかやってないんですが、木曜日は忙しいんだよなぁ。行けるかなぁ。（行けば上達するってもんでも無いでしょうが。）

来年は家族で野球でも観に行きたいですねぇ。

At last, I went to Yosemite National Park last Saturday.  I left my room at 5:30 AM and came back at 10:00 PM.  I was tired very much.

I was thinking of the way to go to the departue point in Fisherman's Wharf at 7:00 AM for a while.

• First Cable Car starts at 6:30 AM, so I will be late.
• To ride a taxi alone in the early morning is scary for me.
• It seems that the suitable bus runs.

So, I choiced the last option. I used Trip Planner to  look up the time and route. To enter the information is messy, but the result is not bad.  That made me go to there on time.

The bus of tour corp was almost full to capacity. And I thought there was one Japanese except for me, maybe. The bus driver looks like sixty-year-old man, but he drove it on both ways by himself. I think it is so hard to work. In addition to that, he guided about what we can see on the bus.  He must be tired. He spoke slowly, so I could understand a little.

We arrived at Yosemite around 12:30 PM. And the depature time of return bus was 3:00 PM. I had free time for just only 2 hours! OMG!
There are free shuttle buses in the park. But I rent a bike. This bike does NOT have handle brake!! But I discovered soon. If I work the pedal to backward direction, this bike stop. It was my first time that I ride this kind of bike.

Since I didn't know about the park, anyway, I worked the pedal. However, as far as I can see only great nature. So, I was happy by itself.
At first I watched the Lower Fall. Hmmm..., It is small ;P . I would likd to watch more bigger creatures. Next, I watched Mirror Lake. Hmmm..., There are no water! There are less water in this season, I think. But There is a GREAT view of Half Dome. It was awesome!

And then..., Wow!!  It has been already 2 o'clock. I have to go back to depature point! I worked hardly the pedal and I arrived at 2:30 PM.

I had just only few hours, but I was glad to enjoy the nature. If I have a chance to come here again, I would like to stay for a few days. I wanna enjoy seeing falls, climbing moutains and playing by the river.

Yosemite Tour

土曜日、ついにヨセミテ国立公園に行ってきました。朝の5時半に部屋を出て、帰ってきたのが夜の10時。疲れました。

朝の7時に集合場所のフィッシャーマンズ・ワーフに行く方法を先日から考えていたのですが、

• 一番無難そうなケーブルカーは始発が6時半だったので微妙に遅れそう
• 早朝のタクシーに一人で乗るのがちょっと怖い
• どうやらちょうどよさげなバスが走っているらしい

ということで、バスを選択。Trip Plannerというサービスを使って時間と経路を調査。入力が面倒くさかったけど結果はまぁまぁ。おかげで集合場所には問題なく到着。

50人乗りぐらいの大型バスでしたが、ほぼ満席。日本人は僕ともう一人いたみたいです。バスの運転手は60歳近い感じなんだけど、行きも帰りも一人で運転するというハードワーク。しかも道中の「向かって左に見えますのは・・・」みたいなガイドまでやってくれる。大変だ。ゆっくり話してくれるのがよかったです。

ヨセミテに着いたのは12時過ぎで、帰りの集合時間が3時。自由時間はなんと2時間ちょっとしかない！ぐふぉー。
公園内は無料のシャトルバスが走りまわってるけど、なんかよくわからないのでなぜか自転車をレンタル！自転車のハンドルの手元がなんかさみしいなと思ったらブレーキ付いてない！ペダルを後ろに回転させてブレーキかける自転車は初めて。中学1年の時の英語の教科書でMikeが乗ってたなそういえば。まさかこんなとこで乗ることになるとは。

どこに何があるか分からないので、とりあえず目についたところから攻めていく。というか、もう既にお腹一杯。まわりがもう大自然すぎ。最初に見たのは滝。でもすごくちっこい。めげずに次のポイント目指して川沿いを爆走。

途中、野生のリスや鹿に遭遇したりしつつ、一番遠くのMirror Lakeに到着。名前から湖面に景色が反射して・・・というのを想像してたけど、季節的に水が少なかったようで想像とはちょっと違った。でもそこから見えるハーフドームは圧巻。

時計を見たらもう2時過ぎ。タッチの話じゃないけど、たったの2時間で見ようってのが無理みたい。（キレイにつながった）
来た道を爆走して2時半ぐらいに集合場所に到着。自転車を返してギフトショップとかをぶらぶら。

帰りは各自のホテルまで送ってくれるみたいなんですが、僕はベイブリッジを降りてすぐのところ(3rd & Folsom)なので、ラッキーなことに一番最初に降りることができました。

時間は少なかったけど、とりあえず大自然を満喫することはできました。でも泊まりで来るべきですね、ここは。もっと大きな滝も見たいし、山にも登ってみたいし、川遊びもしたい。まだまだ楽しめそうなとこは一杯あります。また来たいです。

ところでYosemite Lodgeの近くのレンタル自転車はすごくオススメです。なぜってそれはお店のお姉さん（ラテン系）がすごく可愛いかったから。どうですか、つ○とさん。

Yesterday, I reserved Yosemite Tour for today. But I couldn't get confirmation at 4 AM. (Departure time is 7 AM)  So I sent an email to the tour company that I want to change the reservation date from today to 26th. If I'm not mistaken, I did the same thing last week...

今日ヨセミテツアーに行くつもりで、昨日の昼に申し込んでいたのですが、今朝の4時になっても予約完了メールが届かず！（出発は朝7時）なので、ツアー会社に26日に変更してくれとメールしておきました。なんか先週も同じ事した気がする。。。

I'm going to leave Tokyo for San Francisco at 8th August, and I will stay for about 3 weeks. This is the second business trip to the headquarter in US (and the foreign trip is also the second time.), so I have finished preparing the baggage easily with watching the list of items used at previous time. I'm happy, because the summer clothes don't take up much space than the winter ones. My style is very light.

One of my goals for this time is to talk with others in English than the previous time. It sounds like an elementary student's one... but it's too difficult for me. :(

But before that, I have to finish my big project tomorrow. That's why I'm staying up late right now. I hope it will beat jet lag.

出張のため、8日からサンフランシスコに行ってまいります。滞在期間は3週間の予定です。今回で2度目ということで、荷物の準備も前回の出張持ち物リストを見ながらなので非常に簡単。前回に比べてさほど中身に変わりはないのですが、夏なので衣類がかさばらない分、スペースに少し余裕があるかも。ということで前回以上に軽装備です。

今回の目標は、前回以上に話をすること。って小学生みたい。。。でも難しい。

その前に大きな仕事を一つ終わらせないと。そのための夜更かし中です。時差ボケに効くといいのですが。

朝の6時からロボット作らされた。

He made me create this robot at 6:00 am.

I went to the Haneda Airport (HND) with my family  on May 21. It was the first time that my son saw a real airplane. He and I were excited and shouted "TONDA TONDA TONDA!!". That voice was more higher and noisier than engine sounds of airplanes.
